What is there to see and do in Looe?

The beach in Looe provides a great place to relax and explore, with sandy stretches and rock pools, alongside pleasure boat rides around the coast.

Looe is filled with a variety of shops; from souvenir shops to one-off boutiques. Eating out is also great with fish and chips and Cornish pasty vendors all around the village. You’ll also find lots of Cornish pubs and restaurants serving fresh produce, which is due to the area having one of the largest fishing fleets on the Cornish coast.

You can also enjoy diving here. HMS Scylla, sunk in 2004, is a popular site, or maybe you’d prefer to explore the underwater world from a glass-bottomed boat. Looe Island lies just off the coast and is now a nature reserve filled with wildlife. Trips can be taken out during the main season, while fishing trips are also popular. All great things to do in Cornwall.

You’ll also find lovely scenery all around the South West coast path. Stretching 630 miles, the nearby fishing village of Polperro is a great stop-off. A hot spot for smuggling in years gone by, the fishing village is packed with places to eat, shops and lovely coves.

The village also hosts events and festivals throughout the year, with two of the most popular being the Looe Music Festival and New Year’s Eve, when revellers dress up and take to the streets.
