Things to see and do in Harrow
Another huge part of Harrow’s appeal is the prevalence of green spaces across the borough and in the surrounding area. From Bentley Priory to Stanmore Country Park and Northwick Park, you’ll also have incredible spots like the Colne Valley Regional Park, Fryent Country Park and Elstree Open Space close by, depending on where you live.
Then there are cultural attractions like Harrow Arts Centre, Headstone Manor and Museum, and the Heath Robinson Museum with its wonderful art displays. The borough is blessed with a selection of schools rated as outstanding by Ofsted, including St Anselm’s Catholic Primary to the south and Vaughan Primary to the west. St John Fisher Catholic Primary covers Pinner, while younger children in Harrow Weald can attend Whitefriars School and those in Wealdstone can go to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary.
The outstanding options continue at secondary level, with Whitefriars School offering education up to the age of 18. Whitmore High School is just to the south west of Harrow, while Park High School and Bentley Wood High are also in the education board’s highest category. Harrow School, meanwhile, is one of the borough’s top independents.
Harrow transport links
As well as train stations such as Harrow & Wealdstone which lies between the two along the A409, there are also a selection of bus routes and Tube stations across the borough. The latter give you access to the London Underground’s Bakerloo, Jubilee, Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, as well as Overground services. Meanwhile, Edgware is just across the eastern border, and one of the Northern line’s termini.
