Attractions in East Cowes

Cowes is a historic port with a rich maritime heritage. The eastern part of the town is home to interesting attractions like the Classic Boat Museum Gallery and East Cowes Heritage Centre, and also offers access to the beautiful Osborne Bay. Continuing round the coast you’ll come across Wootton Creek before too long, a tidal estuary which flows into the Solent. 
 

Beaches and rivers in East Cowes

There are so many coastal delights to enjoy around the Isle of Wight, with spectacular spots like Ryde Beach only eight miles away from East Cowes, or 20 minutes in the car. East Cowes transport links


East Cowes is dissected by the A3021, which heads south towards Newport. You can reach the Isle of Wight’s county town in around 15 minutes, while it’s around 25 minutes to get all the way round to Cowes. There’s no bridge across the River Medina, although there is a chain ferry you can use to traverse the water either by car or on foot. You can also catch a ferry from East Cowes across the Solent to Southampton on the south coast of England.
