If you’re a sports fan, you can practice your swing at Castle Point Golf Course, go skateboarding at the Legacy XS Centre or take the kids for a bounce at Base Jump.

Education

For families moving to the area with school-age children, it’s good to know there are a number of outstanding schools close to Benfleet including Kingston School, The Robert Drake Primary School, Kents Hill Infant School, The King John School and The Appleton School.

If you have older children, or you’re thinking of studying for a degree yourself, Benfleet is within commuting distance of the University of Essex Southend Campus.

Getting to Benfleet

Whether you’re visiting family and friends or commuting to work, Benfleet is well-connected by road, with the A127, A130 and A13 all nearby. The local train station provides regular services to London and beyond, so it’s easy to travel by rail if you prefer to leave the car at home.

Benfleet is a 10 minute train journey from Southend-on-Sea, or 30 minutes by car. The journey from Basildon takes 10 minutes by train or 20 minutes by car, while the train journey from London Fenchurch Street takes just 45 minutes. If you drive to Benfleet from the centre of the capital, the journey takes around one hour 15 minutes depending on traffic.

When you’re jetting off on holiday, London Southend Airport is only a 20 minute drive away from Benfleet.
