We've created The Barratt London Awards to discover the lesser-known local spots and shine a light on the city's hidden gems across London.
We asked Londoners to nominate their favourite hidden gems in the city, within the following six categories. Together, we want to bring Londoners' favourite spots out of the dark and into the light.
Following a high number of entries, a panel of judges went through each nomination with a fine-tooth comb. They then created a shortlist of establishments to go through to the final judging round for The Barratt London Awards.
Here are the hidden gems which have made the shortlist:
Dining
Boxcar Butcher & Grill, Marylebone
The Drunken Butler, Farringdon
Café
Woolidando, Bethnal Green
Pub/Bar
WC Clapham, Clapham Common South Side
Well-being
Parliament Hill Lido, Hampstead
The Life Centre, Islington
Entertainment
Backyard Comedy Club, Bethnal Green
Retailer
Soon, representatives from Barratt London will be joined by the authors of Poppy Loves and I'm Moving to London, to narrow down the shortlist. They will then select the overall winners of The Barratt London Awards and uncover the hidden gems across the City.
Winners will be revealed on Barratt London's Instagram and will be presented with a trophy to mark their achievements.
With this being the launch of The Barratt London Awards, it's an incredibly exciting time. We are an established and trusted provider of London living, and hosting these awards is a great way to celebrate this.
Congratulations and good luck to all shortlisted and thank you to those who nominated their favourite hidden gem.
Members of the public who nominated their favourite hidden gems have been entered into a draw to win a £500 John Lewis voucher, with the winner to be announced imminently.
