Celebrating our 500,000th home

In recent years we've substantially increased our charitable giving – donating more than £4m last year.

But we want to go further, so to celebrate the completion of our 500,000th home we've launched the Barratt Foundation and donated £500,000 across 10 important charities, as voted for by our employees.

Of the 10 charities chosen, Macmillan Cancer Support was voted number one, and will receive £150,000.

The remainder of the donation is being divided between Dementia UK, CALM, The Wildlife Trust, Marie Curie, Re-engage, The Samaritans, Refuge, The Matt Hampson Foundation and The Care Workers’ Charity.

Building communities is a huge part of what we do, and since the company was formed in 1958 we have now built 500,000 homes.

But we’re not just proud of the scale of the neighbourhood we’ve created – it’s the people that make it special.

Half a million homes means millions of happy memories, helpful neighbours and first-times over the threshold.
