One of the best local secondary schools is Bryntirion Comprehensive, which is in the north east of Bridgend and rated as excellent by Estyn. Brynteg Comprehensive and Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School are both ranked as good, while Porthcawl Comprehensive is another strong option if you live far enough west of town to be part of the catchment area.

How are the transport links in Bridgend?

The M4 motorway passes to the north of town, providing direct access to Swansea in the west and Cardiff, Newport and the South West of England to the east. Smaller A and B roads can take you to the coast and other parts of the region, which are also connected by bus and rail. Cardiff Airport meanwhile is around 15 miles away, a journey you can do in less than half an hour in the car.
