Inverness is served by three main roads, including the A9 which heads north to Thurso and south towards Perth. The A82 runs south west along Loch Ness towards Fort William, while the A96 heads west towards Inverness Airport around nine miles away and on to Aberdeen. With a central train station on Academy Street, the city also has a local bus network and coaches for getting to other parts of Scotland.
